Cervical Dysplasia Tutorial
The Cervical Dysplasia Tutorial is designed to demonstrate microscopic
criteria for various grades of dysplasia as seen in a conventional Pap
smear. It is assumed that a student has been introduced to the concept of
dysplasia in the epithelium of the uterine cervix and has access to
microscopic examples. This program presents photomicrographs of cells with
written explanations for each of eight criteria used to diagnose and grade
squamous dysplasia in the cervix. Our objective is to reinforce visual
criteria for students beginning their study of cytotechnology.
